5000 years - provided that we move in the right direction and no derailment occurs.
Personally, I don't need to cross pass "Democracy Boulevard" to remind myself of what I want.
Everyday, there are things constantly reminding us of what we are missing.
Dear author-
Why you have to eat brownie as breakfast not Moat-hin-gar?Why you have to risk the chance of having ring worms by wearing trousers rather than wearing sarong (lon-gyi)?Why you have to wash smelly socks everyday instead of wearing valvet slippers? Why you have to share the house with strict landlord instead of living in your cosy, warm home with your loving parents and family?
The bottom line is,since stone age people moves to places where the grass is green. It is abosoultely nothing wrong with it.
Burma is like Titanic.Well off or educated people get out easily before the ship sink. Not very well off people try hard to get out from the ship.Educated and old people gracefully sink along with the ship.
Hence, our job is try to help as many people out from the sinking Titanic.
At the same time, we must make sure the people who wreck the ship must sink with the ship.

At this point in time, grass is greener elsewhere away from the golden land. But, I have never lost my hope that we can and will have green grass in our mother land once again. I do not want to use the analogy of sinking ship which gives no hope but fear.
Some people may choose to go, some may assist them, however, a great majority will stay there for various reasons. A day will come for all those who have to/ chose to stay.
thanks for your thought provoking comment.

thanks for your comment.
www.burmaeconomicwatch.blogspot.com is a website which reveals the dire state of today Burma's economy.
In there, there are two articles in particular -"lagging the pack" and "Inconvenient arithmetic truths" worth reading.
Comparing Burma with Titanic is not to despair but to highlight the reality. It is imperative to accept the truth in order to find the best way out for Burmese people.
