my prelim

preliminary oral examination

let's start a new year with a good news - a really good one. i took preliminary oral examination of my doctoral program on january 9, 2008. there were three possible outcomes; fail, pass with condition and unconditional pass. i received unconditional pass. the examination committee teasingly gave me their voting chips and i thought it would be nice to share with you. everything is bloggable. isn't it?

it took me three and a half years of my life, many courses, examinations, and ups and downs to reach this significant milestone in my doctoral study. i would want to call this experience as 'seeing the light at the end of the tunnel'.

i do know that there is still a long way to go before i could reach to the very end of this one and many more tunnels are waiting after that. but, i sincerely hope that things will be brighter this year and i will be able to grasp my dreams soon. so, this is the time to pause, celebrate a little and thanks to those whom i am indebted to.

thanks to ..
  • mom and dad for giving me courage, chance and opportunity to pursue what i want to pursue ..
  • my sister for taking care of mom and dad while i am half-a-world away from home ..
  • all my teachers for equipping me with indispensable tools to solve the problems of life ..
  • my host family in the US for letting me find a 'home away from home' ..
  • friends and close acquaintances for providing moral supports whenever i need them ..

Dear Pandora, Ko Soe Htet, Peti, Ma Yi Yi Win, Shwe Gyan, Kay, & Viola,

Thank you very much. It wouldn't be an overestimate if I say that blog, blogging, blogosphere, and blogo-amigos played and are playing a significant role in my life. They keep me going and thus, you all helped me in different ways to get me that far.

Thanks to you all for that.

I hope we can meet in person somewhere in a near future and celebrate. Until then, ...
